A Look at Target Field
Yesterday was the first Twins game played at Target Field in an exhibition game against the much hated St. Louis Cardinals. It’s a beautiful ballpark. The clarity of the big screen in center field is like nothing I’ve ever seen.
The Twins only released 1,000 tickets to the public so we were stuck in the Family Nosebleed Section for the first third of the game.
We spent the second third of the game waiting in line waiting in line for our free hot dogs at the volunteer run Hennepin Grill. All beers are $7 (they do sell Premium in the stands) and there is a $12 Vincent burger. I didn’t try it… 1) cuz it’s a $12 ballpark burger and 2) I fear that it’s cooked by the same idiots that make the hot dogs.
The ushers were pretty loose so we spent the rest of the game checking out the rest of the field. The Batter’s Eye section in center field is the best spot for poor baseball lovers. $22 tickets and a view like you are watching it on your TV. If you are going in a big group or looking for the cheap party section, the Budweiser group deck is the place. Nice view, full indoor and outdoor bar with heat lamps for $10 standing room tickets.
