So I’m 384 songs through The Pitchfork 500, and I’ve just finished the 90s. I don’t know if this was purposefully done by the writers or if it’s true to life, but the 90s were a total downer compared to the 80s. Drone and grunge. Even the pop was moody. I was saved every now and then by some hip hop, but most of that was all gangsta, glitz and guns by then. How come I remember the 90s being a good time for music? I think it’s because Pitchfork doesn’t do R&B. At least the 2000s are looking promising. The video abovie is a 90s highlight… Daft Punk off shoot, Startdust, with a Michelle Gondry directed video.
